Dear Blog and My Blog-Friends,
I hope everybody is doing fine. I have been away from my blog and all your blogs for so long because of my health. I have been really, really sick but now I am hopefully back. Lots of things are happening in my garden now - abundance of strawberries, green leafy vegetables and peas. I will start posting about them and their photos soon. Here are some pictures of flowers that were growing in our garden in March. Every year, they usually flower in late April/early May, but this year they came early as we didn't have a proper winter. How many of the following flowers can you name :-)? I can only name a few though they are growing in my garden!!

ReplyDeleteFrom the bottom; peony, tulip, creeping phlox, I don't know the little white ones, the next is phlox again then muscari, the next 3 are rhododendron although to me the smaller flowered ones are azaleas I don't know if that is correct, bleeding heart, primrose, dandelion!,lilac, flowering quince, creeping charlie and a dogwood tree.
Beautiful blooms.
I'm so glad you're doing better! I had knee surgery a year and a half ago and told the doctor I had to schedule it in my 'off-season'. When he asked if I was an athlete I told him I was an Extreme Gardener. Going back to work was hard but I was healed by summer and could garden. :o) Despite your absence, your garden has been busy pumping out the beauties. I could identify all the flowers except for the little white ones, too. Broken pots make great toad houses and it's a fun way to use a pot you love, cracks and all.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back. Best wishes for your good health.
ReplyDeleteBridget.
Big welcome back KL, very happy to hear that you're feeling a little better and hope that you get stronger each day. Your garden is an absolute delight, which is obviously due to a lot of pre care by yourself. Gosh Bakingbarb is a whizz with the names, I know them all but apart from the phlox and azaleas I was pretty much stumped for actual names. Yes I think the length of time Lily was living rough before she wandered into my garden shortened her little life by a few years. It broke my heart when she became so ill, she was a real joy for the time we had her.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back and nice to see you again in blogosphere :) Glad to know you're on the mend and hopefully you'll fully recover soon and fast. Looking forward to your updates!
ReplyDeleteHi KL,
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! It is nice to go through your blog. Such pretty flowers - I am having a tough time picking a favorite! Do take care of your health. Waiting to see what else is happening in your garden.
Glad you are feeling better! I love all your spring flowers, although bleeding hearts are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you back. I think number 6 is phlox - I used to grow a lot of phlox - I love how abundant their flowers can be. Hope your health continues to improve.
ReplyDeleteHi! I've never taken any gardening courses. I just learn as I go. :o) I've never grown sweet potatoes before but have read that they do very well in a large deep pot. I'm growing Bush Porto Rico sweet potatoes that I ordered online from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. They arrived as slips that I potted up.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've had health problems. Glad you're feeling well enough to start blogging again. I hope the new growth on the plants and the blooms make you feel better, too.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back and I am so glad you are doing better, health wise.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers there. Are they all yours? wow!
